Domestic Work in Vietnam

This paper presents the labor conditions of Vietnamese domestic workers. It also analyzes relevant legislative policies in order to highlight shortcomings and formulate recommendations to improve their situation.

The paper is based on a data collected by the Research Centre on Gender – Family and Community Development, who conducted research on “Domestic work in Vietnam” in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh July in October 2012, as well as the new Labour Code, passed by the National Assembly in mid June 2012.
